The Algarve is the perfect spot for hiking and cycling. Hiking and cycling in the Algarve is possible through all kinds of landscapes: from the rugged cliffs in the southwest to the salt flats in the east. The Algarve offers more than sea and coast. For hiking and biking in the Algarve, there are many options and is possible in all seasons. The hinterland of the Algarve is beautiful, with hills and a diversity of flora and fauna.
Our B&B Casal da Eira is central located in the Algarve. You can explore in daytrips the hinterland or the coast by foot or bike.
Many of the hiking tours in the hinterland of the Algarve are linked to the long –distance footpath called ’Via Algarviana’ that runs from the Spanish border in the east to Cabo de São Vicente, the most south-westerly point of Europe. Look at our special deal for a hiking holliday Algarve to discover the Via Algarviana. Or if you like to combine the hinterland of the Algarve with a stay at the coast, look at our East-Algarve hiking special where you stay at 2 different guesthouses.
Cycling or ATB tours are here very attractive. The quiet hinterland has a variety of trails with a length of 30 to 150 miles in a hilly landscape with varying altitudes up to 550 m. Specific to the area around Sao Bras de Alportel, is that are no long stretches of uphill cycling. After a short climb and short descent the next climb is undertaken. After a trip it is great to relax at the poolside or outside in our lounge area and have a drink.
